What Is The Peace Of God, and How Can I Experience It?
Life in this world can be difficult sometimes, and there are moments when we feel like we desperately need the peace of God.
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
These words are how Paul’s letters always begin. This peace is a blessing and gift that reflects God’s nature.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
Our response of utmost trust in Him fills our hearts with His peace when we truly understand his character and trustworthiness.
If God is peace, then to know God is to bask in His peace

The peace of God comes when we ask for wisdom
What a promise! Mark Altrogge shares that we can experience the peace of God even when the future is uncertain because God promises to give us wisdom.
“The God who knows all things, past, present and future promises to personally teach us, instruct us, guide and counsel us. When going through a hard time, cry out to him for guidance, which he will surely give you.

We may not know the future but we know the God who does.
The peace of God comes from knowing that God is with you
Altrogge adds that no situation is too hard for God to change. No one is too far gone for Jesus to save. No need is too great for him to meet. He can make things possible and easy when you choose to believe. “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
“Believers in Jesus Christ are never alone. In the deepest waters or darkest nights, God is right by our side. We don’t see him, we may not sense his nearness, and everything around us may scream that we are alone. But God has promised to be with us through waters, rivers, fire, and flame.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2”

The peace of God comes with knowing God’s love
An interesting article from Christianity.com shares that when we grow in our knowledge of the wisdom and prosperity of God’s love for us, our minds and spirits develop a restful faith in His power and grace.
“We begin to recognize that He really will make all things work together for our good and that His purposes will be achieved.
May you have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:18-19

We all want to experience the peace of God in our hearts
Brian Hedges shares that peace is one of the universal longings of the human heart. Everyone wants peace; we want peace in our own lives, and we want peace in the world.
“Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise or trouble or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. This is the real meaning of peace.

One thing is certain… God desires his children to experience his peace. It does not mean that it will always be the case and we won't feel stressed, challenged, or anxious. Rather, despite all this, we’ll still fight the good fight of faith which will allow us to experience the love of God. The only way to truly love God and experience His peace is to understand how much He loves us first. His peace will flow from that.
